  • The Poplars is suited for events with a guest count up to 100 people due to size of The Pavilion and space for parking. Available for weddings and other events including reunions, birthday celebrations, family gatherings and holiday parties.

  • The Poplars includes 4 unique spaces, allowing both an indoor and outdoor experience for your event:

    The Grounds is an ideal outdoor location that is naturally shaded for wedding ceremonies to take place, weather permitting. Mature poplar trees, dogwood trees and indigenous plants span the acreage. The handmade arbor present in some of the pictures is available for you to decorate with flowers etc., if you wish to use it for your ceremony.

    The covered, heated 1600 square foot event Pavilion provides an indoor option for receptions as well as a backup plan in case of inclement weather. The space is equipped with heated bathrooms, retractable window enclosures, multiple electrical outlets, lights, a speaker in each corner and receiver with blue tooth and the ability to plug in a phone for a song playlist, also a disco ball upon request. Utilize this space during your extended stay to play corn hole or pickle ball as the equipment is included with your rental.

    Bearwallow Retreat is a newly built large home with 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths, 1 half-bath and laundry room. Able to accommodate 16 guests to sleep (this includes one pull out queen size couch).

    Bearwallow Cottage is a 4 bedroom, 3 full bath home that can accommodate 12 guests to sleep.

    Bearwallow Retreat and Bearwallow Cottage both have large covered decks with hot tubs, fire pits, gorgeous mountain views, gas grills, washer and dryer and fully equipped kitchens. Some couples have chosen to use the covered porches as a ceremony location.

    16 banquet style tables and x-back chairs with pads to seat a maximum of 100 people (local renting value of ~$1,000 value).

    Bridal Suite (Bearwallow Retreat can be used as a bridal suite to have all of the ladies getting ready for the day separate and away from the guys).

    Grooms Quarters (Bearwallow Cottage can be used as a groomsmen hangout to ensure the groom does not see the bride before the ceremony).

    Parking on site for up to 30 cars (enough for all guests to park if approximately 2-3 people per car). A parking attendant is available at no additional cost if requested.

    The private property offers multiple acres for nature walks and exploring, including 2 different off-site hiking trails a short walk down Bearwallow Mountain.

  • Pricing is based on the time of year and length of stay.

    Three night minimum stay at each of the two homes on the property are required for booking an event (Bearwallow Retreat and Bearwallow Cottage). Total prices most likely range from $7,500.00- $10,500.00.

    This total includes the price of staying in the homes plus an additional venue fee of $5,000.00. The venue fee includes the rent to use the property for up to two events per rental, 16 banquet style tables and x- back chairs with pads to seat a maximum of 100 people (local renting value of ~$1,000.00). Sales Tax and a cleaning fee are not included.

  • Tours are by appointment only as it is a private property, please see our contact section to schedule a showing with our events director Alan MacNair.

  • The Poplars does not have a preferred vendors list that you must choose from. We leave the choice of vendors up to our clients in order for each event to truly reflect the couples unique personalities, wedding style and vision. After you have booked with us, upon request we can give a list of recommended vendors in the area if you need some guidance.

  • A three night minimum booking of the two homes on the property is required when booking an event.

    It is required for clients that book an event at The Poplars show proof of day-of-event insurance with the specifics stated in our contract.

Extended Weekend Stay

Our extended stay weekend wedding package includes accommodations on the property for 28 guests, extended access to your venue, use of the site for rehearsal and/or dinner at no additional cost or use of the site for a morning after event brunch if you choose, lodging for bridal party or other guests, additional time for rental deliveries, rental returns and additional photography time.

Guaranteed to be the only wedding/event on the 75 acre property during your booking. Use of the entire venue property for the length of stay you choose (three night minimum) which means you have access to your wedding venue for that length of time too, not just a mere 8 or 12 hours! (Bearwallow Retreat, Bearwallow Cottage, The Grounds and The Pavilion).
